The dance contest at the Maltina Sharing Pavilion during the 2011 Rivers State Carnival could best be described as the fall of Goliath by little David.

Little did 11year old Moses know he was going to be crowned the grand winner of the 2011 Maltina dance contest when he took to the stage to contest in the first category of the competition.

The three days event was loaded with interesting activities ranging from comedy by Mudiaga to a dancing competition within age bracket of 11 to 18 years on the first day. The second day saw the contest between 34 to 50 year olds which had Amaka Elijah as winner while on the third day, Jerry Abdulsalam came first to contest with winners from the other categories.

The duel that brought forth Jerry Abdulsalam was between the ages of 18 to 34 years; this group contested with vigor but at the end Mr.  Abdulsalam came first and was rewarded with a 2.5KVA generator for his performance while all the first and second runners-up in each category were rewarded with a 32inch LCD television and home theatre respectively.

The final competition that saw Moses Anyabelem as the grand winner started shortly after popular musician Whiz Boy dazzled the crowd with his “Infinity” track. Moses at the end of the competition came first in the finals of the finalist; he was rewarded with three hundred thousand naira as an addition to his initial win of a 2.5KVA generator. Jerry Abdulsalam and Amaka Elijah were given cash prizes of two hundred thousand and one hundred thousand naira respectively. The Ekubo family, winner of the 2011 Maltina Danceall were on hand to present gift items to winners, they also entertained the crowd.

The Maltina dance team also entertained the crowd, gifts were given to active members of the crowd also there free drinks and barbeque for everyone at the end of each day at the sharing pavilion.

 

 

Abakaliki the capital of Ebonyi state was thrown to live when the dance gig team stormed the town with the Maltina Dance roadshow. People of the ever business town were stunned when they saw that youths of Abakaliki had talents inherent in them.

People turned up in their hundreds to cheer to victory over thirty – five contestants who were duly selected during the weekly pre – event activations.  They watched, clapped and learned latest dance steps from both male and female contestants in a show.

At the end, two 2.5 KVA Generators, two 21” TV sets, Two Home theatres sets and lots of Maltina freebies were given out to contestants.

Godwin Okoro an undergraduate of the Ebonyi State University came first in the male category and went home with a 2.5 KVA Generator set.

Emeka Ogbuehi was the first runner-up in the male category. He was presented with a 21 inch Television Set, while Pascal Uke was the second runner-up and went home with a set of home theatre.

In the female category, Sophia Anosike came first and went home with a 2.5 KVA Generator set while Asike Chisom and Bridget Emmanuel were first and second runners up respectively. The duo was presented with a 21” TV Set and Home Theatre a piece.

The team moves to Aba for the next activation.

 

The 2011 edition of the Maltina dance gig has been described as the best thing that ever happened to the people of Nsukka and its environs so far in the year.
 These were the words of participants at the weekend event after they all left the venue of the show excited.

At the end, Harrison Ekere won a Honda 2.5kva generator while a 21” TV set was taken home by Emmanuella Nnadozike and a Home Theatre set was given to Asgwa Chidinma for their excellent performance at the final show in Nsukka.


In his words: “Maltina Dance Gig has really lifted me. I never believed that I was going to win and I believe this is best thing that has ever happened to us in Nsukka this year and we wish to see more of Maltina activations in Nsukka”.

The roadshow team moves to Abakaliki for more exciting movement as it shares happiness with the people of Ebonyi state.

Youths in Ihiala, a surburb town in Anambra state has described Maltina as the number Malt drink with a vision of building the Nigerian youth’s dream.

The youths turned up in their hundreds to cheer to victory over sixty contestants who were duly selected during the weekly pre – event activation.  They watched, clapped and learned latest dance steps from both male and female contestants in a show at the end, two 2.5 KVA Generators, two 21” TV sets, Two Home Theatre sets and lots of Maltina freebies were doled out to contestants.

Clinton Dal an undergraduate came first in the male category and went home with a 2.5 KVA Generator set. Clinton gave thanks to God for giving him the victory.

Okwuy Iwuozoi was the first runner-up in the male category. He was presented with a 21” TV Set, while Daniel Chibuikem was the second runner-up and went home with a set of home theatre.

In the female category, Nwangwu  Uzoma came first and went home with a 2.5 KVA Generator set while Eze Chiamaka and Umeh Angel were first and second runners up respectively. The duo was presented with a 21” TV Set and Home Theatre a piece.

The team moves to Nsukka for the next activation.

The sleepy town of Awka in Anambra State came alive last weekend when the Maltina Dance Gig, a pan-Nigeria roadshow sponsored by Maltina, the nation’s number one malt drink hit the town.

The youths turned up in their hundreds to cheer to victory over 40 contestants who were duly selected during the weekly pre – event activation.  They watched, clapped and learned latest dance steps from both male and female contestants in a show

At the end, two 2.5 KVA Generators, two 21” TV sets, Two Home Theatre sets and lots of Maltina freebies were doled out to contestants.

Ineh Azuka a secondary school graduate came first in the male category and went home with a 2.5 KVA Generator set. Azuka gave thanks to God for giving him the victory.

In his words: “Maltina Dance Gig has really lifted me. I never believed that I was going to win. But thank God that victory is mine”.

Chibuikem was the first runner-up in the male category. He was presented with a 21” TV Set, while Gabriel Nzube was the second runner-up and went home with a set of home theatre.

In the female category, Andra Chetachi came first and went home with a 2.5 KVA Generator set while Macris Chris and Sandra Davies were first and second runners up respectively. The duo was presented with a 21” TV Set and Home Theatre a piece.

The roadshow had earlier held in Badagry, Ajegunle and Ogbomosho.

The Bayelsa born student of Opolo secondary described the show as inspiring and supportive her dreams as looks forward to become the best in Nigeria very soon.

On Saturday 29th November, youth turned up in their hundreds to cheer to victory over 50 contestants who were duly selected during the roadshow activation. They watched, clapped and learned latest dance steps from both male and female contestants in a show.

 Emmanuel Enaturu, a student seeking admission into university came first in the male category and went home with a 2.5 KVA Generator set.

Karo James was the first runner-up in the male category. He was presented with a 21” TV Set, while Emmanuel Peter was the second runner-up and went home with a set of home theatre.

In the female category, Celestina Godspower came close to Blessing Godwin while Treasure Eghaghara was the second runner up and were both presented with a 21” TV Set and Home Theatre respectively.

People were also rewarded with various gifts for their performance during the show and for ensuring that the brand had a hitch free event.




Sapele a brought live for a week when the Maltina Dance team stormed the town with its dance activation titled ‘show your swag’.Youth turned up in their hundreds to cheer to victory over 60 contestants who were duly selected during the roadshow activation.

They watched, clapped and learned latest dance steps from both male and female contestants in a show.At the end, two 2.5 KVA Generators, two 21” TV sets, Two Home Theatre sets and lots of Maltina freebies were doled out to contestants.

Edosa Philip, an undergraduate came first in the male category and went home with a 2.5 KVA Generator set. He described the show as very interesting and an opportunity to showcase ones talent.

Anthony Eigbe was the first runner-up in the male category. He was presented with a 21” TV Set, while Chike Ayanogwu was the second runner-up and went home with a set of home theatre.

In the female category, Benedicta Nwanchi came first and went home with a 2.5 KVA Generator set while Jade Chukwu and Hananh Bilose were first and second runners up respectively. The duo was presented with a 21” TV Set and Home Theatre a piece.


Auchi a suburb in Edo state was brought live for a week when the Maltina Dance team stormed the town with its dance activation titled ‘show your swag’.
The maltina pan-Nigeria dance roadshow has travelled across Nigeria leaving Auchi as the 19th location since the program started in May.

Youth turned up in their hundreds to cheer to victory over 30 contestants who were duly selected during the roadshow activation. They watched, clapped and learned latest dance steps from both male and female contestants in a show.

At the end, two 2.5 KVA Generators, two 21” TV sets, Two Home Theatre sets and lots of Maltina freebies were doled out to contestants.

 Momoh Rasheed, a secondary school student came first in the male category and went home with a 2.5 KVA Generator set. He described the show as very interesting and brings people together.

John Oshikemeca was the first runner-up in the male category. He was presented with a 21” TV Set, while James Oshikemeca was the second runner-up and went home with a set of home theatre.

In the female category, Nkeiru Unigwe came first and went home with a 2.5 KVA Generator set while Jackson Blessing and Shaka Falilat were first and second runners up respectively. The duo was presented with a 21” TV Set and Home Theatre a piece.


For Maltida Alakaso, her journey into stardom began last weekend when he came first in the second phase edition of the on-going 2011 Maltina Road Show tagged, “Show Your Swag”.

Matilda who her friends sometimes call maltina,  is a budding artiste, said her coming tops in the Maltina Road Show in Irua portends good tidings for her as it was the first time she would be winning a laurel in a major competition this year.

According to Matilda “For you to succeed in whatever you are doing, you must first and foremost devote much attention to it and then have strong believe in yourself. Success comes from within”.

Other winners in the show included Sonia Ebome and Iyore Odse. They were first and second runners up respectively in the female category and went home with a 21” TV set and a set of Home Theatre respectively.

In the male category, Samuel Omoh came first while Rashidi Taiwo and Eseigbe Kingsley were the first and second runners up. The show happened at the Irua town hall. The venue was filled to capacity as youth trouped out in their hundreds to watch the show. 

The show continues through to Auuchi, Sapele, Bayelsa and some states in the eastern part of the country.


It was the talk of the town. Every young person who was not there was regarded as squared. All paths in the rocky town of Abeokuta, Ogun State led to the Reverend Kuti Memorial hall on Saturday 1st October as the Maltina Dance Gig, a pan-Nigeria Dance roadshow tagged Show Your Swag sponsored by Maltina, shook the municipality.

Young people trooped out to showcase their best dance steps on the final day of the weeklong competition.

Olatunji Aikomo, client service executive at Bates Cosse, organizers of the event for Maltina said the brand was empowering young people by bringing them onto the dance floor in a nationwide drive that had seen the Maltina train ride through Lagos, Oyo, Osun, Ekiti, Ondo, Birin Kebbi, Kaduna, among others.

Contestants were rewarded with souvenirs and free drinks, while winners in both male and female categories went home with generators, televisions and home theatres.


Maltina Dance Gig, a pan-Nigeria Dance roadshow tagged Show Your Swag sponsored by Maltina, touched-down in Sango Otta, Ogun State in the Phase 2 campaign of the exercise after combing a total of 15 states in the initial, many youth in and around the town were caught in the bug of excitement and glamour that the show brought with it.

At the pre-show selection around the city, youth came out en masse to either participate or cheer participants to victory.

Events Managers, Bates Cosse, were in high spirit and very optimistic that the show would be fun all through judging by the standard that was displayed by participants during the pre-show selection processes.

“Judging by the wonderful displays that we have seen so far during the pre-show selection, I am certain that it’s going to be pretty tough to select winners. But all the same, this is very good for the show and definitely, guests are going to enjoy every bit of it”, Mr. Tunji Aikomo, the Project Co-ordinator, said.

The roadshow has given many of the budding talents that abound across the Nigerian cities visited so far the opportunity to express themselves and showcase their talents in dance and music.

At exactly 12noon on Saturday, Hexgaon Hall venue of the show was filled to the brim as both the old and the young were ready to cheer their loved ones to victory. The dance gig team thrilled the crowd with various dance steps.

Ajileye Mutiu emerged first runner up coming close to Yusuf Wisdom who wore the crown of the day, while Adebayo Adedoyin was the second runner up, they were presented with a 21” Samsung coloured TV and Home theatre respectively.

In the female category, Mary Shimai, came first and was rewarded with a 2.5KVA Generator set while Bisola Salawu and Obakore Mary emerged first and second runners-up respectively.

The Ibadan show rounded off the first phase of the 2011 edition of Maltina Dance Gig titled - Show your sawg. The second phase commences September 17 and runs into December 2011.



Youth and lovers of dance in Ile-Ife were in for exciting moments as Maltina, the nation’s favourite malt drink hits the ancient town with its experiential marketing platform Maltina Dance Gig.

The Maltina Dance Gig kicked off in the ancient city of Badagry some months ago with contestants thrilling well-over a thousand audience who converged at the Township Halls to cheer and learn latest dance steps.

The Maltina Dance Gig is a unique platform to connect with the consumers. The show has combed the nooks and crannies of the nation: from Badagry to Kaduna through Ore to Akure. By December 2011, the roadshow would have visited the six geo-political zones in Nigeria”.

At the end of the show, Opeyemi Folajimi emerged the winner in the male category. He went home with a 2.5KVA Generator set. He was closely followed by Chris Asinamen (he won a 21” TV set) and Bamidele Madaiyese (he won a Home Theatre Set), who were first and second runners-up respectively.

In the female category, Aderibigbe Pelumi, came first and was rewarded with a 2.5KVA Generator set. Folajobi Abosede and Modegbe Mercy emerged first and second runners-up respectively.

It was a contest of who dares the other, amongst the young and old in the state of the living spring.

The show was regarded as the best that ever happened in Oshogbo since the inception of the state, these were the words of young and old. They commended Maltina for bringing such an exciting show to the people of Oshogbo.

In his words Olatunji Aikomo the project manager, said the brand was empowering young people by bringing them the opportunity to showcase their talents in dance in a nationwide drive that had seen the Maltina train ride through Lagos, Oyo, Kwara, Birin Kebbi, Kaduna, Ondo, Ekiti and Osun states among others.

At the end of the show, two 2.5 KVA Generators, two 21” TV sets, Two Home Theatre sets and lots of Maltina freebies were given out to contestants.

 Segun Okutu a student came first in the male category and went home with a 2.5 KVA Generator set.
Abosoji Femi was the first runner-up in the male category. He was presented with a 21” TV Set, while Akinkunmi Shina was the second runner-up and went home with a set of home theatre.

In the female category, Ayokunmi Emoruwa came first and went home with a 2.5 KVA Generator set while Helen Anifowoshe and Sanya Ademide Kemisola  were first and second runners up respectively. The duo were presented with a 21” TV Set and Home Theatre a piece.


Esa Oke a hilly town in Osun state got dancing over the weekend when the Maltina Dance Gig team stormed the town with the Maltina sponsored dance platform titled Show Ur Swag.

Every young person who was not there was regarded as squared. All paths in the hilly, sleepy town of Esa oke, Osun state led to the town hall on Saturday, 5th August, 2011. Young people trooped out to showcase their best dance steps on the final day of the week long competition.

 Aromole Adeniyi a 100 leve student of Esa Oke Polytechnic came first in the male category and went home with a 2.5 KVA Generator set. He gave thanks to God for giving him the victory.

Oreva Esegine was the first runner-up in the male category. He was presented with a 21” TV Set, while Abiodun Olalekan was the second runner-up and went home with a set of home theatre.

In the female category, Tosin Bamidele came first and went home with a 2.5 KVA Generator set while Bamigboye Zainab and Ibrahim Kuburat were first and second runners up respectively. The duo were presented with a 21” TV Set and Home Theatre a piece.


Ekiti environs was brought to life when the Maltina Dance Gig team hit Aramoko Ekiti a sub town in the state.
The pan-Nigeria Dance roadshow tagged Show Your Swag and sponsored by Maltina, brought together many youth in and around the city and they were caught in the excitement and glamour that the show brought with it.

Before the final show, participants were selected during a pre-show activation held in the town, and some other locations around the state. Youth came out en masse to either participate or cheer participants to victory.

At the end of show for the female category Olayiwola Temitope won the 2.5 KVA generator while Mary George and Lucy Patrick were first and second runners up went home with a 21 inch TV and Home theatre respectively.

In the Male category Lanre Fatade, Adedotun Olusegun and Alex Daniel won the 2.5 KVA generator, 21 inch TV and Home theatre respectively.

The roadshow by far has given many of the budding talents that abound across the Nigerian cities visited so far.


Akure the capital of Ondo state was brought to life at the Akure youth center on Saturday, when Maltina Dance Gig, a pan-Nigeria dance roadshow sponsored by Maltina, the nation’s number one malt drink hit the town.

The youth were elated and turned up in their hundreds to watch the show.  There were over 60 contestants who were duly selected during the roadshow activation.

At the end, two 2.5 KVA Generators, two 21” TV sets, Two Home Theatre sets and lots of Maltina freebies were given out to contestants.

 Femi Onajobi, a secondary school graduate came first in the male category and went home with a 2.5 KVA Generator set. He gave thanks to God for giving him the victory.

Amola Adetoye was the first runner-up in the male category. He was presented with a 21” TV Set, while Udosen Sunday was the second runner-up and went home with a set of home theatre.

In the female category, Joy Olebu came first and went home with a 2.5 KVA Generator set while Olajide Busayo and Adeola Fatunwase were first and second runners up respectively. The duo was presented with a 21” TV Set and Home Theatre a piece.

For Mohammed Garuba, his journey into stardom began last weekend when he came first in the Birin Kebbi edition of the on-going 2011 Maltina Road Show tagged, “Show Your Swag”.

Garuba, who is a budding artiste said his coming tops in the Maltina Road Show in Kebbi portends good tidings for him as it was the first time he would be winning a laurel in a major competition this year.

“If there are ways you can search through my heart right now, you will find out that I feel very much on top of the world. This is a big plus to my dance group as we prepare to go for another major competition very soon”, Garuba said. 

According to Garuba “For you to succeed in whatever you are doing, you must first and foremost devote much attention to it and then have strong believe in yourself. Success is a thing of the heart”, he added.

Other winners in the show included Alli Jamah and Mohammed Mosur. They were first and second runners up respectively in the male category and went home with a 21” TV set and a set of Home Theatre each for their efforts.

In the female category, Joy Sunday came first while Tosin Ola and Tina Erijoh were the first and second runners up. The Kebbi show happened at the open ground of Dukku Barracks Birin Kebbi. The venue was filled to capacity as youth trouped out in their hundreds to watch the show. 

The Dance gig team have visited Badagry, Ajegule (AJ City), Ogbomosho, Iseyin, Ilesha, Offa and Birin Kebbi. Kaduna will host the show next weekend.

Abdul Asafa, a secondary school graduate came first in the male category and went home with a 2.5 KVA Generator set. Isioye gave thanks to God for giving him the victory.

In his words: “Maltina Dance Gig has really lifted me. I never believed that I was going to win. But thank God that victory is mine”.

Idowu Wiziano was the first runner-up in the male category. He was presented with a 21” TV Set, while Efe Paul was the second runner-up and went home with a set of home theatre.

In the female category, Juliana Tonade came first and went home with a 2.5 KVA Generator set while Taiwo Elizabeth and Oyekunle Ifeoluwa were first and second runners up respectively. The duo was presented with a 21” TV Set and Home Theatre a piece.

The roadshow had earlier held in Badagry, Ajegunle and Ogbomosho.


Governor of Kebbi State, Alhaji Sa’Idu Usman Dakingari, has commended Maltina of the Nigerian Breweries Plc for its continuous sponsorship and support for the just concluded Argungu festival. The Governor who, made the commendation at the grand finale of the annual festival held at Gurbin Kokuwa town in Augie local Government Council of the state, said that Maltina’s support has made the hosting of the festival this year a reality.

In line with its new brand proposition of 'Sharing Happiness', the Maltina brand did just that in this year's edition of the Argungu International Fishing and Cultural Festival in Kebbi state in April.

Over 14,000 fishermen dove into the river in Aguie village, Kebbi state in search of the biggest catch.
Mallam Shehu Raha emerged the winner and walked away with N1 million and a tricycle. The 2nd and 3rd winners also walked away with N300,000 and a motorcycle and N200,000 and a generator respectively.
The Maltina sharing pavilion at the event was alive with music, local artiste Oyoyo, fresh fish and roasted asun for consumers to enjoy.

It was truly a Northern experience and there was a lot of happiness in the air.
